State Income Tax Rates and Politics

    Here is a table showing the state income tax rates on highest bracket earners. The table is sorted from highest rates to lowest. Most of the high tax states have Democratic Governors in favor of higher state taxes. Most Republican Governors are looking for opportunities to reduce or eliminate state taxes to attract business and growth.
